If you have loose teeth, bleeding gums or bad breath, these may be indicators of advanced gum disease. However, gums are not the only thing affected by gum disease; it can damage the underlying bone as well. Osseous surgery can correct irregularities in the underlying bone, and will remove the bacteria that causes gum disease.

In the most severe case, much of the underlying bone has been destroyed. Dr. Cornelius can perform a procedure known as bone regeneration that will actually replace some of the damaged bone.
