What is Botox®?

Botox® is a temporary muscle relaxing agent derived from Clostridium botulinum type A.  Botox® has a wide range of successful therapeutic and cosmetic indications which have been proven to provide positive results by relaxing overactive muscles.  Treatment of overactive muscles reduces debilitating issues and promotes more aesthetically pleasing results.

Where is Botox® used?

Botox® has been cleared since 1989 for uncontrollable facial spasms, the breakthrough with the agent lead to further and wider treatment consensus within the medical community.  Now, Botox® has a wide range of clinical uses.  It’s been used for moderate to severe forehead and frown lines, crow’s feet, eyebrow wrinkles, and under the eye wrinkles since 1991.  Botox® can also reduce the appearance of gummy smiles with phenomenal results.

How long does Botox® last?

Botox® is indicated for use every 3 to 4-months.  Safe usage prior to a 3 to 4-month period have not been determined.

Does it hurt and how fast will I see results?

Botox® is injected into tissues using a fine needle.  Methods to reduce any discomfort involves placing ice around the area to be treated, or using a topical anesthetic cream.  Many satisfied customers have reported minimal pain during and after treatments.  Results can be seen within a 1 to 2-day period and last up to 4 months.
